You're reading: Azarov orders to inquire reasons of gas explosion in Kharkiv region

Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov has ordered an inquiry into a gas explosion at Chervonodonetsk booster compressor station (the village of Kopanka of Kharkiv region), which caused injuries to seven employees.

As the government press service reported, an operational mobile group of employees of the Emergencies Ministry, Interior Ministry and PGO are to establish the cause of the gas explosion on the premier’s orders. 

According to the press service, a gas explosion without a fire happened at Chervonodonetsk booster compressor station on July 11 at about 0830 on the second industrial level.

As a result of the accident, seven injured employees were taken to the central regional hospital.

The industrial vehicle wasn’t destroyed. The explosion destroyed several constructions of the premises and broke windows within an area of 50 square meters.

A criminal case under Article 273, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine into the accident has been opened (violation of safety rules at enterprises with high risks of explosions).
