Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said that in 2012 the government will increase funding for the construction of regional roads.

"In the first quarter of 2012 we will complete the commissioning of all the facilities for Euro 2012. Thus, funds will be released, in particular, for the construction of a regional network of roads," he wrote on his page on Facebook, answering questions from the social network users.

Speaking about the possibility of making air travel across Ukraine cheaper, the prime minister recalled that the prices for the tickets for domestic flights were reduced in 2004.

"Now, it is more complicated. The air transportation in Ukraine is an open competition of airlines, but it doesn’t apply to regional flights. We will think how to create conditions for competition, and thus reduce the price of domestic flights. We have a wonderful medium-range An-148 aircraft, and the airlines need to think how to optimize costs," Azarov said.

He assured that he would instruct the Infrastructure Ministry to develop proposals how to make tickets for domestic flights cheaper.
