Kyiv is ready to launch new formats of dialog with the European Union to reform the justice system, and improve electoral legislation and the business climate, Acting Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said in a phone conversation with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton. 

According to the press service of the Ukrainian government, the phone conversation was initiated by Ashton.

Azarov thanked Ashton for her desire to maintain a constructive and open dialog, and for giving a positive assessment of the prospects for cooperation between Ukraine and the EU.

He also welcomed the conclusions of the EU Foreign Affairs Council and said that it was a good signal for the further deepening of cooperation.

He said that Ukraine was determined to implement the association agenda and sign a respective agreement.

“We are also ready to launch new formats of dialog with the EU to reform the justice system and improve electoral legislation and the business climate in Ukraine,” Azarov said.

The parties also agreed to maintain a constant personal dialog to prepare for the signing of the association agreement, including the creation of a deep and comprehensive free trade area between Ukraine and the EU.
