The current Ukrainian government is planning to destroy former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko by preventing her getting medical treatment, the first deputy head of the BYT-Batkivschyna faction, Serhiy Sobolev, has said.

He read out a respective statement by the faction from the parliament’s rostrum on Thursday.

He said that foreign doctors, after examining the former prime minister, had confirmed "the seriousness and severity of Tymoshenko’s illness, noting that due to such problems Tymoshenko can undergo only inpatient treatment in a special medical clinic outside the penitentiary system."

"These findings by German doctors were officially transferred to the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Health Ministry on March 7. And despite that, after receiving the official recommendations of an international commission, the Ukrainian government took a cynical, draconian decision about Tymoshenko’s treatment in the Kachanivska penal colony," reads the statement.

In this regard, the faction said that these facts are "evidence of the deliberate neglect of problems with Tymoshenko’s health and intentions to physically destroy the main opponent of President [Viktor] Yanukovych."
