Opponents of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych will march to his residence outside Kyiv today, increasing the chances of clashes with police as protests extend beyond a barricaded square in downtown Kyiv.

Leaders including jailed former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko asked supporters to hold their first demonstration at Yanukovych’s home, known as Mezhyhirya, about 10 kilometers (six miles) from the nearest Kiev metro station. Organizers called the event after a journalist active in anti-presidential protests was dragged from her car and beaten Dec. 25.
