Ukraine’s first-half state budget deficit narrowed from a year earlier as revenue rose 16.9 percent, the Finance Ministry said.

The shortfall was Hr 6.7 billion ($826 million),
compared with Hr 10.96 billion in the same period of 2011,
the ministry, based in the capital, Kyiv, said today, Aug. 1, in a
statement on its website. Revenue increased to Hr 162.96 billion
from 139.35 billion, the ministry said.
