The U.K's decision to leave the European Union will create the need to change the procedure of functioning of European institutions, which may simplify Ukraine's path to becoming an EU member, Marshal of the Polish Sejm Marek Kuchcinski said.

“If we are speaking about the future, first and foremost the European future, about what will happen in connection with Great Britain’s decision, I believe that this creates the need and gives an opportunity to make changes to the functioning of European institutions, such as the European Parliament and the European Commission,”said Kuchcinski at a joint briefing with Verkhovna Rada chairman Andriy Parubiy on June 26 in Truskavets, Lviv Oblast.

According to him, this opens up an opportunity to make changes into the relevant provisions, which would simplify Ukraine’s path to the common, united Europe, to the European integration.

“In this connection we agreed that we would work on this matter. I hope our work will bring good results,” Kuchcinski said
