You're reading: Cabinet approves plan for government program of Ukraine’s subway networks development until 2020

The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has approved a plan of the government program for the construction and development of the country's subway networks for 2011-2020, which according to preliminary estimates will cost around UAH 62.815 billion.

The government passed a relevant resolution at its meeting on December 28, the information department of the Cabinet’s secretariat reported.

The plan envisages the development of the existing underground networks in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk, as well as a subway system under construction in Donetsk.

In line with the resolution, the Infrastructure Ministry together with relevant executive agencies, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Kharkiv regional state administrations, and Kyiv City State Administration should develop within three months a draft government program for construction and development of subway networks for 2011-2020 and submit it to the government.
