Ukraine's government on Feb. 24 approved the procedure required for the transfer from April 1, 2016 of public procurement by central executive authorities and state monopolies to the ProZorro electronic trading system.

Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Maksym Nefyodov, presenting the document, said that the improvement of the ProZorro system and its launch with new functions, certification of electronic platforms, training for the representatives of budget executives and adoption of all necessary regulatory documents are scheduled for March.

The official said that at present more than 3,000 customers are connected to the system, or 15 percent of their total number, however they account for 90 percent of all public procurement.

According to him, the system also includes more than 10,300 suppliers, eight electronic platforms, and three more platforms are in the process of connection.

He said that 53,000 tenders for a total of Hr 12.6 billion were conducted through the system, and the amount of savings has already exceeded Hr 860 million.

The most active users of the system are the Ministry of Defense, Ukrgazvydobuvannia, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Kyiv City State Administration.
