The Ukrainian government has provided the return of the Mezhyhirya residence of ex-president of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych to state ownership, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers has said.

‘The cabinet has ensured the return to state ownership of the land plot of the Puscha-Vodytsia recreation complex, which was illegally transferred to Tantalit LLC’, reads a statement.

The press service noted that in June the Economic Court of Kyiv region satisfied the claims of the prosecutor’s office in favor of the state in the name of the Cabinet and the Puscha-Vodytsia recreation complex and demanded the recovery of land plots with a total area of more than 135.1 hectares from Tantalit LLC.

‘During the execution of court decisions the procedure of returning the land worth over Hr 118.9 million to the state has been completed,’ the press service said.

In early September, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reported that the land of Mezhyhirya has been finally returned to the state.

At same time, residence commandant Denys Tarakhkotelyk noted that the issue of the facilities and property located on the land has not been solved. He also reported that there are certain debts, in particular that for electricity, of an amount of Hr 1.7 million.
