The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has increased the funding of pension payments from the 2012 national budget by 57.9%, or by Hr 5.619 billion, to Hr 15.324 billion.

A corresponding decision is stipulated in cabinet decree No. 576 of June 25, which has been posted on the Web site of the government.

“[This decree] changes the figure of Hr 9,705,030,300 to Hr 15,323,930,300 in the point The Coverage of the Deficit of the Pension Fund of Ukraine at the Expense of the National Budget,” reads the document.

At the same time, the total expenses of the Pension Fund are increased by 4.1%, or by Hr 9.06 billion, to Hr 228.764 billion.

The Pension Fund reported on its Web site that revenues to its budget from all sources of financing in January-May 2012 amounted to Hr 86.205 billion, surpassing the figure for the same period of 2011 by 7.9%. The fund’s own revenues over the first five months amounted to Hr 61.483 billion, which is 15.6% up from last year.

The number of pensioners of all categories in Ukraine as of May 1, 2012 amounted to 13.698 million people.

The average pension in May increased by Hr 119.77, to Hr 1,400, due to the implementation of the president’s social initiatives in the field of pensions.
