Former Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetsky has stated the defense of his son Stepan had filed an appeal in Spain.

“We have filed an appeal. It includes conclusions of Stepan’s banks, international audit companies and detailed explanations of all banking transactions! And most importantly – 100 percent confirmation that all the money he has is from the sale of Pravex-Bank in 2008 for $750 million, as well as investment in startups in different countries,” Chernovetsky said in an interview with the Segodnya edition.

He noted the appeal should be considered within a month and admitted that his son could be released on a bail of 720,000 euro.

According to Chernovetsky, the case of his son is secret and his son’s protection focuses on the disclosure of the case materials.

He said that after the arrest of Stepan his business has not closed, although his son has to work without a computer, while being in prison, which complicates doing business.

Chernovetsky added his family has a lot of property in Kyiv, 99 percent of which is real estate.
