The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed Leonid Chernovetskyi, Kyiv mayor, head of Kyiv city state administration, to chair the commission for providing victims of the Elita Center fraud with housing, the press-service of the Ministry of Justice said.

The regulation was worked out by the Ministry of Justice and approved in the government meeting on June 23.

Thus, Kyiv city state administration shall report to the Cabinet of Ministers and representatives of Elita Center investors about commission’s performance quarterly until the 5th of the following month.

As Ukrainian News reported, the Cabinet of Ministers in February 2008 created a commission for providing Elita Center fraud victims with housing. The commission was led by former Minister of Justice Mykola Onischenko.

Over 1,500 investors in housing construction suffered from the Elita Center fraud revealed in 2006.
