The Civil Position party has joined the united opposition of Ukraine, which includes the Batkivschyna all-Ukrainian Union, the Front for Change and several other political parties.

“We want to inform the Ukrainian public that at present the united opposition will counter the aggression of the authorities,” First Deputy Leader of the Batkivschyna Party Oleksandr Turchynov said at a press conference on Wednesday.

“Today, we want to tell you of our decision to merge with the Civil Position political party, which is lead by Anatoly Hrytsenko,” he added.

Hrytsenko, in turn, said that the political forces had held talks and “took the correct and responsible decision.”

He said that on June 15 they had signed a document about Civil Position’s entering the united opposition.
