A court has granted a request from prosecutors of the Zhytomyr region in Ukraine by discontinuing the upshot of Zhytomyr City Council's decision to set up a people's council and banning its publication before the court ruling takes effect.

The court also overturned the council’s decision to send a letter to
the Ukrainian president, Zhytomyr regional prosecutors said on
Wednesday.

These decisions were made in violation of the Ukrainian Constitution
and the laws regarding local self-government, the Ukrainian
parliamentary elections and the Ukrainian presidential elections,
prosecutors said.
