You're reading: Crimea will remain part of Ukraine , says deputy Tigipko

“The break-up scenario won’t work, and the Crimea will remain part of
the Ukrainian state,” the deputy wrote on his Facebook page on
Wednesday.

Politicians should “heed the people, stop inciting separatist
sentiments and playing on various sensitive regional issues,” he said.

“Even more unacceptable are the outside calls for our country to be
split. The Ukrainian people will decide on their own, without outside
advisors, how to move on. The authorities must heed the public and do
whatever they can to prevent the unraveling of Ukraine,” Tigipko said.
