Ukraine’s police launched criminal case for damaging billboard showing President Viktor Yanukovych.

On January 5, unknown individuals poured dark blue paint at the billboard carrying Yanukovych’s New Year greeting.

The local police have reacted promtly and launcheda criminal case on suspicion of hooliganism, Interfax Ukraine reports.

The team of investigators already visited the site and seized the evidence, according to the Lviv regional police statement.

Yet, shortly afterwards, another Yanukovych billboard has been damaged in the neighboring Rivne region.

As Ukrainian News reports, paint thrown at the construction located along the highway near the town of Ostroh completelyruined Yanukovych’s billboard depiction. The perpetrators have not been found.

Earlier, Lviv regional authorities ordered heads of local administrations to monitor all billboards carrying Yanukovych’s greetings and “react promptly” in case of damage.
