Prague - Oleksandr Tymoshenko, husband of jailed former Ukrainian prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko, applied for Czech asylum because of the enormous pressure by the current Ukrainian regime against which he will take political action, he told Radio Liberty´s Ukrainian broadcasting today. Tymoshenko said he and his colleagues founded the Batkivshchina (Fatherland) association that will comment on the steps of the Viktor Yanukovich government, monitor the observance of human rights in Ukraine, and coordinate activities of Ukrainian exile groups.
