You're reading: Demonstrators near Rada dismayed at parliament’s refusal to oust Azarov’s government

The participants in a rally outside the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, building on Tuesday were dismayed by the news that the vote of no confidence in the government led by Mykola Azarov did not gain enough support among the parliamentarians.

An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported that the people took the
news from the parliament with dismay and outrage, chanting ‘Disgrace’,
‘Out With This Gang’, ‘Revolution’ and other mottos and then sang the
national anthem of Ukraine.

The situation near the Rada building is basically calm, with hundreds
of protesters still rallying on an area adjacent to the parliament
building, although some of the demonstrators have started slowly moving
toward Kyiv’s central street Khreschatyk and Independence Square, the
Interfax-Ukraine correspondent said.
