You're reading: Discharged health minister Musiy not planning to return to run minister post

Oleh Musiy who has been discharged from the post of health minister does not plan to return to the minister post and wants to work on reforms in the healthcare sector as a lawmaker in the Ukrainian parliament, he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Nov. 5.

“I don’t have plans to return to the health minister post. I’m the legally elected lawmaker at a constituency. I understand that it is impossible to work honestly in the government headed by [Arseniy] Yatseniuk. I see my work in the lawmaking area. It’s likely that I will work in the parliament in the healthcare committee where I will implement the reform which has been shelved by Arseniy Petrovych. I’ll try to implement it not via executive power, but via legislative power,” he said.

As reported, on Oct. 1 Yatseniuk proposed that Musiy is discharged from the health minister post.
