You're reading: Dnipropetrovsk allocates Hr 1.7 million to purchase apartments for Olympic winners

Dnipropetrovsk - Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council has decided to allocate Hr 1.7 million to purchase new apartments for five athletes who won medals at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. 

“Olympic champions in rowing Yana Dementieva, Natalia Dovgodko, Anastasia Kozhenkova and Kateryna Tarasenko, as well as Olympic silver medalist Oleksandr Piatnytsia, will receive apartments in a new building in the Livoberezhny-3 housing estate in Dnipropetrovsk,” Dnipropetrovsk Regional Governor Oleksandr Vilkul said at a session on Friday.

As reported, athletes from Dnipropetrovsk Dementieva, Dovgodko, Kozhenkova and Tarasenko – representatives of the Dzerzhynka sports club – won a gold medal in the women’s quadruple sculls. Dnipropetrovsk javelin thrower Piatnytsia claimed a silver medal.
