As reported, the normal scheme of power supply to Avdiyivka Coke
foresees four 110 kV lines. A dangerous situation occurred due to the
damage of three high-tension power lines on July 21-22 when active armed
hostilities started near Avdiyivka. The plant was operating using only
one of the four required lines for three days – from July 22 to July 25.
It took two days to restore the second reserve line, although on July
26 it was damaged again.
The Avdiyivka enterprise, one of the largest coking plants in Europe,
is a member of the Metinvest industrial group, whose major shareholder
is Ukrainian businessman Rinat Akhmetov.
