The Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine has decided to gradually regulate business operations instead of using the so-called "regulatory guillotine" which envisaged the cancelation of a large number of regulatory acts, Economic Development and Trade Minister Aivaras Abromavicius said at a cabinet meeting.
“During consultations with our European partners they expressed alarm that the “guillotine” could result in a regulatory vacuum in some sectors, which could affect the quality of regulation. We’ve arrived at the concept of high-quality regulation [instead],” the minister said.
At the cabinet meeting, Abromavicius presented head of the effective regulation office Oleksiy Honcharuk.
Abromavicius said at a press conference afterwards that efficient regulation office would not replace the State Regulatory Service of Ukraine.
