Leader of the UDAR Party Vitali Klitschko has said that the upcoming parliamentary elections in Ukraine will be a litmus test for the current authorities, in particular with regard to its aspirations for European integration.

Klitschko said this at a meeting with Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski, according to the party’s press service.

“If the world declares these elections democratic, it will be a good
sign for Ukraine and its European aspirations. We’re inviting as many
observers as possible to hold the elections transparently,” Klitschko
said.

He added that if democratic forces win the elections they will do
everything possible to return the country to the way of democratic
development, reject selective justice and implement real reforms. He
also expressed hope that this will speed up the process of signing of
the Association Agreement with the EU, which has said was in line with
Ukraine’s national interests.
