Energoatom President Yuriy Nedashkovsky has pointed out difficulties in the denunciation of the agreement between Ukraine and Russia on the construction of the third and fourth power units at Khmelnytsky nuclear power plant.

“We have not been able to denounce the agreement with Russia for a year, Energoatom is attending all authorities and we cannot denounce it,” he told reporters.

According to him, in particular, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sends technical comments in response to Energoatom’s appeals regarding the need for the denunciation of the agreement with Russia to complete the blocks.

As reported, the Ukrainian government previously stated its intention to refuse cooperation with Russia in the construction of the third and fourth units at Khmelnytsky nuclear power plant. Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk in October 2014 put the task for Energoatom to accelerate the completion of reactors at Khmelnytsky nuclear power plant with European partners. Among the possible participants in the completion of the power units was Czech Skoda.
