You're reading: Energy issues to be main subject of Yanukovych’s meetings in Davos

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych is planning to participate in an annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos (Switzerland), and most of the president's meetings will be dedicated to energy issues, his spokesperson, Darya Chepak, has said.

"The Ukrainian president is planning to participate in the World Economic Forum in Davos. The president will participate in the events of the Energy Summit as part of the WEF, in particular, in sessions entitled ‘Energy for Economic Growth’ and ‘New Energy Architecture: Possible and Effective Transformation,’ which will be held Jan. 26 and 27. As part of this working visit, Yanukovych is planning to have bilateral meetings with the leaders of states and international organizations. The president will also attend a plenary session of the World Economic Forum entitled ‘The Future of Eurasia’ and a traditional Ukrainian lunch conference," Chepak told Interfax-Ukraine on Tuesday.

This year’s World Economic Forum in Davos (Switzerland) will be held on Jan. 25-29.

Last year, Yanukovych also participated in the forum.

Earlier, Head of Ukraine’s Presidential Administration Serhiy Liovochkin said that the president had received an invitation to attend the forum in Davos.
