You're reading: Energy minister: Ukraine intends to boost domestic gas production in 2012

Ukraine plans to increase gas production to 21 billion cubic meters (bcm) in 2012, and to 22 bcm in 2013, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yuriy Boiko told journalists in Kyiv on Jan. 13.

In 2011, Ukraine stepped up oil production 0.4 percent over 2010 to 20.193 bcm.

Production growth will be ensured thanks to the commencement of developing the Black Sea shelf with the help of drilling rigs purchased by Chornomornaftogaz, as well as purchases of new equipment by Ukrgazvydobuvannia, Boiko said.
