Ukraine's Energy and Coal Ministry has drawn up a draft government resolution to boost electricity exports, the ministry's press service reported with reference to Minister Ihor Nasalyk.

“If the document is endorsed, we’ll launch large-scale electricity exports. First, we’ll resume sales to Belarus, Moldova, and Poland,” the ministry’s press service quoted Nasalyk as saying.

The minister said that about 3 million tonnes of coal would have to be additionally burnt to increase electricity exports.

However, the ministry did not elaborate on mechanisms proposed by the document to make Ukrainian-generated electricity more attractive to foreign buyers.
