Tallinn – Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves believes Western allies should be firmer in defending Ukraine.

“Western allies should agree on the need for a more adamant interference to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” says the Estonian president’s commentary seen by Interfax on Thursday, Aug. 28.

In his opinion, “there is an undeclared war” in Ukraine, and Russia’s actions are violating the UN Charter, the Helsinki Final Act and the Paris Charter.
