You're reading: EU soon to announce its assessment of Ukraine’s revised energy strategy

The European Union will make public in the next few days its assessment of Ukraine's revised energy strategy until 2030.

Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira told reporters in Kyiv on April 6 that the European Union was currently maintaining an active dialog in order to finalize the document with the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry.

Manager of the Sector for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy at the EU Delegation to Ukraine Gabriel Blanc, in turn, said that at the end of last week the Ukrainian government had submitted the document for consideration by the European Commission.

"We are conducting an active dialog, but I cannot comment on this issue before the official announcement of the results of the assessment," he said.

The press service of the European Commission has specified that the assessment of Ukraine’s energy strategy is not a separate project. At the same time, the EU intends to provide budgetary support to Ukraine for the implementation of the energy strategy and is actively involved in the dialogue on its revision. The Commission hopes that the measures to step up energy efficiency will play a central role in the revision of the energy policy of Ukraine, the press service said.
