During a telephone conversation, Francois Hollande, Barack Obama, Angela Merkel, David Cameron, and Matteo Renzi “confirmed their intention to introduce additional measures” vis-à-vis Moscow.

The EU and U.S. leaders believe “it necessary to increase pressure” on Moscow to achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine.

The leaders of the five countries “deplored the fact that Russia did not use its influence on the separatists” and “did not take the concrete measures expected of it to ensure Russian-Ukrainian border security,” the communiqué says.
