You're reading: European Comission investigation into Gazprom continues, for now few news – EU commissioner

BRUSSELS – The work of the European Commission on the Gazprom dossier has turned out to take more time than was expected in Brussels, European Commissioner for Competition Margarethe Vestager said on Wednesday at a press conference in the Belgian capital.

“With Gazprom we are in this double-track way of working. We still have direct contact with Gazprom on possible commitments and at the same time, the formal side of the case is moving forward in analyzing the response to the Statement of Objection, but there is no sort of new news except that we are still in contact with Gazprom and a possible solution of the case in the second track, the non-formal track,” the European commissioner said.
