President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Werner Hoyer has announced the suspension of the bank's activity in Ukraine.

“Today we have suspended our activity, as we need to track the political and economic development of the situation in Ukraine,” – told Hoyer at the press conference in Brussels.

According to him, the EIB will not work in Ukraine “until bloody violence is stopped.”

“From my point of view, it would be wrong to continue doing business as if nothing had happened, when people are killed in the streets of Kyiv,” the EIB president said.
