You're reading: Ex-minister Danylyshyn hiding in Germany

Former Ukrainian Economy Minister Bohdan Danylyshyn is in hiding in Germany, reads a statement posted on the Web site of the Focus publication, citing sources at the Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) of Ukraine.

"He might be in Cologne," the publication quoted a PGO representative as saying. He said that Danylyshyn had left Ukraine the day before a criminal case was opened against him.

"It is likely that there was leak of information from our side," he said.

"The ex-minister has currently been put on the wanted list in Ukraine. It’s currently unclear whether a request for him has been submitted to Interpol," Focus reported.

The press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office refused to comment on the situation, citing the secrecy of the investigation.

As reported, the Prosecutor General’s Office is investigating a criminal case against former Economy Minister Bohdan Danylyshyn opened under part 2, Article 364 of the Criminal Code, on charges of causing damages to the state worth Hr. 4.5 million during the coordination of procurement procedures with the state-run Boryspil International Airport.
