An independent security expert and a member of the Ukrainian Academy of Life Safety, Professor Volodymyr Zakhmatov, has said he is confident that the first bomb in Dnipropetrovsk was exploded using a remote device, rather than via chemical detonator.
"The first explosion was set off remotely, so there can be no talk of chemical detonators," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Friday.
Zakhmatov noted that bombings in Dnipropetrovsk were carried out by professionals. He said that such a conclusion could be drawn from the fact that the criminals successfully chose a shell for the charge of the explosive device, using concrete waste bins. In addition, they successfully chose the moment for the explosion – when a tram approached a stop.
