FARE (Football Against Racism In Europe) has said that Prosecutor General's Office in Kyiv failed to punish perpetrators of a racist attack at the Olympiysky National Sports Complex's stands at a Champions League Dynamo (Kyiv) v Chelsea (London) match.

“Kyiv prosecutor fails to punish perpetrators of racist attack at ‪UCL Dynamo v Chelsea match. 2-year suspended sentence handed to one man involved in the incident,” FARE said on its official Facebook page on Thursday.

A 22-year-old man has received a 2-year suspended sentence, with a probation period of one year, for causing a fight during a Champions League football match at the Olympiysky Stadium in Kyiv on October 20.

“The pretrial investigation into actions of other persons who took part in the attack is underway,” the Prosecutor General’s Office in Kyiv said.

As reported, Dynamo Kyiv fans had attacked Chelsea fans, including black ones, at Dynamo Kyiv’s home arena hosting the October 20 match.

The Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body of UEFA, the European football governing body, charged the Dynamo Kyiv for Racist behavior under Article 14 of the UEFA disciplinary regulations.

Dynamo Kyiv filed an appeal against the decision.
