mission of advisers,” Deputy Secretary-General of the European External
Action Service Maciej Popowski said at a meeting of the Subcommittee on
Security and Defencs of the European Parliament in Brussels on Sept. 11.

He said that the mission would start its work in the end of September
– beginning of October in line with the decision of the EU Council.

The EU Advisory Mission for Civilian Security Sector Reform Ukraine
(EUAM Ukraine) was established by the EU Council on July 22, as an
unarmed, non-executive civilian mission. EU advisers will initially
focus on supporting the elaboration of revised security strategies and
the rapid implementation of reforms.
