The public council under the Foreign Affairs Ministry has expressed its deep concern over the actions aimed at a possible change in the strategic vector of Ukraine's development, in particular the announced beginning of the "gradual accession of Ukraine to the rules of the Customs Union" of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

This is contained in a statement of the public council under the
Foreign Affairs Ministry, the text of which was promulgated by public
council chairman Ihor Zhdanov in his blog on the Ukrainska Pravda
portal.

“According to the legal framework of the Customs Union, it is
impossible to access its separate agreements or separate provisions of
such contracts. Countries that want to join the Customs Union should
adhere to all of its contracts in full, which will mean full membership
in the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Community,” reads the
statement.

The authors noted that the course of the European integration of
Ukraine is stipulated in the national legislation, fixed in the program
and the annual address of the president of Ukraine, the policy of most
political forces represented in the Verkhovna Rada of the new
convocation.
