Ukraine's Foreign Ministry is checking if any Ukrainians were killed or injured in Friday's explosion in the city of Damascus, Syria.

"According to the report of Ukrainian Embassy in Syria, on January 6, at 1200, 25 people died and 46 were injured when a car bomb exploded in the district of Midan in Damascus."

"The embassy is taking measures to find out whether there were any Ukrainian citizens among the injured and killed," an announcement of the Foreign Ministry’s Department on Information Policy read on Friday, Jan.5.
