You're reading: Foreign Ministry: Ukraine starts active preparations for OSCE chairmanship

OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier has arrived on a visit to Ukraine to discuss issues related to Ukraine's chairmanship of the OSCE in 2013, according to Foreign Ministry's spokesman Oleksandr Dykusarov.

“OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier is visiting Ukraine on September 10-11 to discuss ways of practical cooperation related to the presidency of Ukraine in the OSCE in 2013. During the visit, Zannier is scheduled to meet with members of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s working group on the preparation and organization of the presidency of Ukraine of the OSCE,” he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.

In addition, the OSCE secretary general will meet with the leaders of Ukraine’s permanent delegation to PACE and address students of the Diplomatic Academy.

According to Dykusarov, on September 12, the Foreign Ministry’s working group will hold consultations with the official delegation of Switzerland, which is to chair the OSCE in 2014, concerning the future of Ukraine’s chairmanship in the OSCE.
