Four activists of the Right Sector have been detained after a minor scuffle broke out near the building of the Russian Consulate General in Odesa where voting in the elections to the Russian State Duma was held on Sunday.

Fewer than ten representatives of the Right Sector organization tried to hamper Russian citizens entering the diplomatic mission’s building, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported. Police then stepped in and detained four Right Sector members.

The Right Sector’s Odesa branch leader Serhiy Sternenko was among those detained.

It became known later that four people had been detained near the Russian Consulate General in Odesa for violating public order and yelling obscenities at police.

Darka Yarchuk, spokesperson for the Ukrainian National Police department in Odesa region, told reporters that the detained persons had been taken to a police station where administrative protocols would be compiled against them.
