MOSCOW - Gazprom reduced the amount of gas transit through Ukraine due to a decline in requested volumes from European consumers, notably on the corridor through Slovakia, due to hot weather, an industry source has told Interfax.

Next week, when the Nord Stream pipeline undergoes a maintenance shutdown, gas transit through Ukraine will increase, the source said.
