A government's draft law on the principles of preventing economic crime and fighting it has been registered in the Ukrainian parliament.
According to the document, it is proposed that a central executive power agency which will form and realize the state policy in the area of preventing and fighting economic crime is created.
According to an explanatory note to the draft, the central agency will be created on the basis of the division of tax police, the money laundering division, the State Fiscal Service, the State Financial Inspectorate and divisions of the Interior Ministry and Security Service of Ukraine which prevent economic crimes.
As reported, the Ukrainian government plans to create the Financial Investigation Service, which will have a special status, the right of legal initiative and to be directly subordinated to the Cabinet of Ministers.
