You're reading: Gryshchenko: Both Ukraine, EU will benefit from Association Agreement

Vienna – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Gryshchenko has said that both the EU and Ukraine will benefit from the Association Agreement.

“[The Association Agreement] is not just a present for Ukraine,” the
minister said at a conference entitled “Ukraine on the Way towards
European Integration” in Vienna on Thursday.

He said the Association Agreement would bring benefits to the
Ukrainian and European sides. The minister added that he would take this
position during meetings with European representatives.

“We’ve achieved certain results in the negotiations, but in some
cases we faced inappropriate demands from the EU. For example, the EU
demanded that the Cahors church wine be renamed,” he said.

“I think the EU is making a big mistake by politicizing this agreement,” Hryschenko said.
