You're reading: Gryshchenko: European integration still key priority for Ukraine

While on a working visit to Great Britain, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostyantyn Gryshchenko said that European integration remained a key priority Ukraine's foreign and internal policy.

Speaking at the International Institute for Strategic Studies at a meeting dubbed "Ukraine’s European integration and its security policy," the minister said that Ukraine’s European integration was important both for Ukraine and for the whole of Europe, the Foreign Ministry’s press service reported on April 2.

Europe cannot be fully integrated while Ukraine, which is Europe’s largest state in terms of territory, remains outside the EU, Gryshchenko said.

The minister noted that the division of Europe into the EU member states and non-member states obstructs the effective use of economic, natural and human potential of the European continent.

According to him, the current dialogue between Ukraine and Europe is held "in the same language, and based on mutual responsibility."

The event was attended by more than 70 British experts on Ukraine and Eastern Europe.
