You're reading: Head of OSCE checkpoint monitoring mission arrives in Rostov-on-Don

The head of the OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) mission, Paul Picard, has arrived in Rostov-on-Don, Rostov regional government spokesman Alexander Titov told Interfax on July 29.

The plane which carried Pickard landed at Rostov airport at 8:15 p.m. Moscow time. Currently, the head of the monitoring mission is discussing with Russian diplomats details of the Wednesday technical meeting with the Rostov regional government, customs and border officials.

Earlier on Tuesday a spokesman for the Rostov regional office of the Russian Federal Security Service Border Service, Vasily Malayev, told Interfax that a group of eight monitors from the OSCE permanent mission had arrived at the border checkpoint in Veselo-Voznesenka.
