African swine fever is not dangerous to people, according to the Health Ministry of Ukraine.

“African swine fever poses no dangers to humans,” the press service of the ministry said on Wednesday.

The ministry added that African swine fever is a contagious viral
disease of domestic and wild pigs. The disease is on the A list
according to the international classification of infectious diseases of
animals.

As reported, African swine fever has been registered in Zaporizhia
region. The possible source of infection could be people from Russia
coming to Ukraine on holidays, and bringing meat products with them.
