A boost in consumer activity coincided with the start of the Euro 2012 European football championship on June 8, 2012, and has led to a rise in attendance of Kyiv's shopping malls in early June by 6% compared to May, according to experts from the Ukrainian Trade Guild (UTG, Kyiv).

The UTG said that the shopping malls attendance indicator was 1,048 people per 1,000 square meters of retail space.

Experts said that there is a minimum level of vacancy on the retail space market, which in the first half of June was 1.4%.

The reduction in the vacancy level led to a rise in the average rent rate for retail galleries in shopping malls in the first half of June by 3%, to $80 per square meter, including VAT and excluding exploitation expenses.

The Ukrainian Trade Guild was set up in 2001. The company provides a full range of services that allow it to realize all stages of a development project. The company manages trade, office, industrial, warehouse, residential and out-of-town housing real estate.

The UTG is a member of the Association of Trade Centers of Ukraine and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and is also a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
