Ukraine's Ministry of Infrastructure has increased the coefficient of indexation to the basic cost of international passenger transportation by rail by 20%.

Corresponding ministry order No. 634 of December 22, 2011 on amendments to the tariffs for international passenger, cargo and baggage transportation by rail has been posted on the government’s Web site.

In particular, the coefficient for second class sleeping carriages was increased from 1.4 to 1.68, and that for compartment cars was up from 1.42 to 1.7.

The coefficients on the dates of departure were also increased by 20%.

According to the order, the tariffs were approved in the tariff currency – Swiss franc. They are calculated through multiplying the tariff by the relevant coefficient.
