You're reading: Interior Ministry arrests around Hr 284 million of funds removed from Rodovid Bank

The Interior Ministry of Ukraine has arrested around Hr 284 million as a part of an investigation into a fact of embezzlement of funds from state-run Rodovid Bank.

“Thanks to measures taken by officers of the chief investigation department of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine during the investigation into the embezzlement of funds from state-run Rodovid Bank, almost Hr 284 million has been arrested. This is the sum of damage caused,” the press service of the Interior Ministry reported on Oct. 23.

During the pretrial investigation it was established that the funds were on the account of a private company which received the money using fabricated documents in the form of deposit rates.

At present, law-enforcement agencies are establishing persons involved in the embezzlement of the funds from Rodovid Bank. The pretrial investigation is underway.

As reported, in August the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine started criminal proceedings against former officials of Rodovid Bank (Kyiv) who are suspected of causing damage to the bank worth over Hr 250 million.
